Why Awesome Self Esteem is Your Right!

Too many individuals live out their lives in a state pervaded by feelings of low self esteem. Is this normal? Absolutely not! If you are in this category I want you to know that you are being robbed of something that is the right of every living human being. Here's why and what you can do about it.

Self esteem means many things to many people. Here I am going to present a definition that is not only unusual it also gets at the root of this elusive experience.

Self esteem is essentially a measure of the degree to which one has esteem or "love" for themselves. So what does it mean to love or esteem one's self?

I realize that such a question might evoke images of individuals who are thought of as narcissistic. This is not what I am referring to. In fact individuals who fall into this category actually have horribly low self esteem and their behaviors are simply a strategy attempting to compensate for the emptiness they feel within. One could equate it with self aggrandizement which they believe will prop up their self esteem. As I'm sure you realize however such strategies take an emotional toll on anyone who engages them and rapidly undermines one's feelings about one's self. Hence they backfire.

To have esteem for one's self implies the ability to fully and completely honor one's inner Truth about whatever is right for one's self at any moment in their lives.

Now in this statement there a number of items that need to be addressed.

Firstly, is the matter of one's inner Truth. What is that and how is one to access it? This is a very tricky subject because most individuals don't even believe they know what is "true" or right for them in any given situation. There is such confusion on this matter that there in lies much of the self esteem problem. You see, if one has no clear assessment of what is right for themselves in a given situation they will hardly know how to honor it.

If I said that your feelings of happiness and sadness, are felt in the heart , direct you towards and away respectively from certain choices acting as your "inner navigator", are the source of your inner Truth how would that feel to you?

If it resonates with you as your "Truth" then try the following:

Place one hand over your heart and as if you were speaking from there simply affirm to yourself that it resonates with you. Then notice how you feel there.

Many of you will likely feel some good or positive feelings as a result of doing this exercise. What you have just done is you have re-awakened your heart the source of your Truth; re-awakened, because most individuals rarely consult their hearts on anything. You see the old adage has become that "one can't trust the heart because it may lead one astray or lead one to make impractical decisions".

In other words one's heart, the source of one's inner Truth has become repressed. It's no wonder most people feel lost and hence make choices that are not in their best interests. That's called dishonoring one's Truth and therefore one's self.

So what kind of self esteem do you think such choices engender? Well clearly any self destructive choice, because that is what means to dishonor one's Truth and one's self, reflects extremely poor self esteem.

So we come to the conclusion then: Having self esteem means honoring one's Truth and therefore one's self at all times. More simply said it reflects one's choice to do what is right for one's self always.

I realize that many might feel this to be selfish. That however is how you have been conditioned to feel about making good choices for yourself.

Many individuals are conditioned to turn away from their inner Truth as they grow up. It is this conditioning that remains stored within as and generated by memories of negative life experiences that block one from ever feeling worthy of making rightful and life enhancing choices for themselves.

In other words this conditioning robs you of your right to your Truth, your life and your self esteem.

There is now a process called the Mind Resonance ProcessŪ (MRP) that can rapidly release/erase such negative memories thereby permanently releasing you from the constraints imposed by this conditioning. Results are irreversible so that you are progressively and permanently restored to your rightful self loving, self honoring self.

Heal Your Hidden Self Through Self Development

The process of inner healing is a long and difficult road that can be made simpler if we are committed to the growth and development that we need in order to do better in our personal and professional lives.

We must be able to stay on top of all aspects of our lives and this means that we have to, continually go through the process of inner healing.

We are all accountable for our personal development and we must assess our internal self and determine the stages that we need to go through in order to achieve inner healing. We may have to take steps that lead us down the path of seeking professional assistance through programs that handle self-healing. On the other hand, we can opt to take a more personal and internal route that entails activities that we can do ourselves and that can lead us to a better outlook on life and develop us into stronger and better persons.

You will need to identify the needs that you have and the issues that you have to deal with in the process of better self-development. This is not a one-step process but one that continues as we grow and become self-aware. We all have to look at some key issues to start this process. We have to assess the strengths, weaknesses, potential, and developmental needs that are present in us and move on from there in the healing process.

The road to self-development is one that is a planned process and that includes the inner healing process.

We have to learn to more towards our strengths and move away from our weaknesses. We have to use experiences to guide us forward and to develop personally. With structure, self-development and inner healing will be a lot easier and we will be able to move to newer heights of self-awareness steadily. The road through these processes is not easy by any means and there will be many hurdles but with dedication to growth, we will be on the way to healing and accomplishments that we never perceived before.

Inner healing is necessary for the achievement of self-development. We have to learn to put our past hurts behind us to progress and move forward in life. It is essential that we are able to look ourselves in the mirror and love ourselves.

Only then, can we look forward to life daily and not shrink away from life overall. Five Kinds Of Self Improvement CDs

If you have ever considered buying self improvement CDs, you know there are a lot to choose from. It isn't just about different authors though. There are very different types to think about as well. Here is a look at five of them, with some pointers as to which may be best for you.

Subliminal Message CDs

We know that our unconscious mind picks up a lot that we are not consciously aware of. Science and common sense proves this all the time. What is not so clear, though, is whether subliminal messages are easily processed and as effective as the sellers of these things say. Many of the original studies (such as the one where movie-goers had "eat popcorn" flashed on the screen) were flawed.

There may be some validity to the use of subliminal audios for self improvement, but if so, the science hasn't really caught up yet. Questions without clear answers yet include whether your mind really hears the messages that you can't consciously hear, whether they influence you the way you hope, and even whether they are really on that CD (how would we know?). Because of these issues, I recommend only buying those subliminal products that come with a clear money-back guarantee.

Self Hypnosis CDs

Hypnosis makes more sense than subliminal messages (my opinion). We know that we are more susceptible to suggestions at times, and one of those times is when we are in an altered state of consciousness, a hypnotic state. Many people swear by hypnosis audios, and they are generally inexpensive. But given that some problems sometimes resolve themselves without help (not to mention the placebo effect), there is still reason for some skepticism here. You might want to try CDs that offer that guarantee again.

Affirmation CDs

The idea of listening to affirmations also makes more sense to me than subliminal messages. You are at least certain to hear the suggestions. The idea is straight forward enough: You condition your mind with the thought and belief patterns as those who are successful, so you'll feel, act, and get the same results as they do. Repeating the affirmations aloud or in your mind may help.

It is easy to be skeptical of the impact of just repeating things of course. But this is one I have tried, and I can say that it really seems to have worked. My wife and I tried a self improvement CD that was meant to motivate us with affirmations of a sort. We let it play in the background for a week or two earlier this year (we work at home), and we were soon working much more. There could be something to this.

Brainwave Entrainment CDs

This is one of my favorite types of self improvement CDs. They are meant to make meditation easy, and they sure do that. Using "binaural beats," they slow your brainwaves and relax you. All you have to do is put on your headphones and listen. Beats embedded in the background music (or rain, waves, or other sounds) slow your brainwaves into an alpha state or deeper (beta brainwaves, at 14 hertz or above, are the usual in a wide awake state).

They claim to raise your threshold for stress with regular use, and many people say they do just that. They may also help you increase your self awareness. I certainly find them to be a pleasant experience. They clear my mind and take away stress quickly. I also use them to put me to sleep when I need a "power nap." There is no question that they powerfully affect your brain, and I have experienced and heard of only positive results.

Good Ideas Products

I'm not sure what else to call these self improvement CDs, but there are a lot of them. They consist of audio books and other programs that simply enlighten you with good ideas. Some are based on a kind of secular spirituality, others overtly religious, and many just provide great life lessons.

Many address a specific subject, like changing your ideas about money, relationships, goal setting or motivation. The best of them change your perspective and so change your life for the better. Some can introduce you to universal principles which alter your entire approach to life. Those are my favorites, especially if they're not too full of mystical nonsense and when I can test and prove the concepts valid in my own experience.

Whatever self improvement CDs you try, the investment is usually reasonable considering the possible benefits. I have spent a lot of money and time on these things over the years, and I can tell you that even if most of them didn't do much, the one or two that were truly valuable made it all worth it.

Why develop a positive mental attitude?

Well, if you look around at the high achievers in this world...in any field, you will find nearly always that they display a positive mental attitude to their field of success. They may do this knowingly or otherwise but simply put you will get much more success if you do the same.

Here are a few qualities that successful people with a positive mental attitude display which you can emulate with a bit of effort:

1) The word failure does not exist and therefore has know power over successful people. Look for the positive possibilities in every situation. What other people would term 'failure' should simply be translated into a sign of what not to do the next time you attempt to do it, and believe me successful people will always try again...

2) This neatly brings us to the quality of perseverance. If something is worth doing now, then you will likely still want to achieve it next month, next year or whenever, so why stop trying? If you desire your goal there is no reason to stop trying until you have attained it, come what may. Know before you start that success won't be immediate, accept this, formulate a realistic plan, write it down, follow it through, make modifications if necessary but keep going. Writing down your plan immediately gives you a confidence boost as it allows you to see exactly how you can achieve your goals which in turn stimulates your motivation aswell.

3) Take responsibility for your situation and actions. Most successful people acknowledge that they created their current circumstances due to their previous actions. Their current situation is believed to be merely a reflection of their previous thought patterns. If you have this the opposite way around then you will seemingly feel the victim to circumstance rather than the controller of it and the deliberate creator that you can be.

By taking responsibility there is therefore know attempt to blame others or for you to hide from the fact that you might have made a mistake which created your situation. By being honest in this way it is easy to make amendments to your thoughts and actions to create future success.

4) Be committed. Develop a 'whatever it takes' approach. This mentality is an extremely important part of a positive mental attitude. Life is full of stories of people with less natural talent becoming more successful than their more talented counterparts. They go the extra yard to be successful, they do the extra training, stay behind after class, run a few more minutes on the treadmill and so on. In short they make life pay the price. Often this part of displaying a positive attitude can feel frustrating. However successful people realize that success is just on the other side of frustration and use it as a good sign post towards future success.

5) Focus your energies on what you do want and not what you don't want. Energy is always creative, particularly your thought energy so don't waste it on negative things. Remember, what you resist persists. So, by seeing the negative in a situation you are actually fueling it and making it into a greater problem. Simply, if you have what you term a negative situation look again and focus on the positive possibilities and give them your thought. These areas will subsequently expand in your mind with avenues that could lead to positive solutions to the initial problem. These thoughts will naturally lead you to more successful thoughts and the spiral continues.

6) Be decisive. Successful people with a positive mental attitude make decisions and stick to them. If they decide they will achieve a certain goal then they will not go back on their decision regardless of how fruitless their task can seemingly appear to be. Remember Thomas Edison the famous inventor of the light bulb. 9,999 attempts and no success commented that he had achieved 9,999 ways not to invent a lightbulb, before actually doing so. Imagine if he had given up after 2, 3 or even 500 attempts!. His decision to invent a lightbulb was made and remained unchanged until he had done so.
